Hubei boasts 36,000 5G base stations

Central China’s Hubei Province had built 36,000 5G base stations by the end of June this year, and the number of 5G package subscribers had reached 19 million, local communications authorities said on August 11.

The province carried out 4 activities from January to June, reaching 47 cooperation projects relating to “5G + Industrial Internet”.

During the period, national mobile operators offered 5G service packages for less than 100 yuan, a drop of more than 22 percent in 2019.

According to the province’s 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), Hubei plans to have 100,000 5G base stations by the end of 2022.
