Construction of Changbaishan station for Dunhua-Baihe high-speed railway

At the construction site of Changbaishan high-speed railway station, more than 700 workers are working on floor tiles, hydropower facilities installation and indoor decoration. The construction of curtain wall, metal roof and canopy metal roof of the station has been finished, the interior decoration of side station has been completed by 45 percent, and the stone pavement of platform has been completed by 93 percent, according to Zhang Ning, production manager of the Project Department of China Railway Construction Group.

Looking from the observation platform of the Changbaishan station house, you can get a panoramic view of the lush virgin forest of Changbai Mountain. A north-south railway line is particularly eye-catching, and the station stands in the forest, echoing the Changbai Mountain 35 kilometers away. Changbaishan station is located in the forest hinterland of the Changbai Mountain Protection and Development Zone, with an average altitude of over 900 meters. It is only 12 meters away from the forest, which is one of the few “forest high-speed railway” stations in China. The national first-class protected plant “Meiren pine” is nearby.

The Dunhua-Baihe high-speed railway, located in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture, starts from the newly-built Changbaishan station, stops at Yongqing station and Dunhua South station, and ends at Dunhua station. It passes through the Changbai Mountain Management Committee, Antu county and Dunhua city, with a total length of 113.5 km. When the high-speed railway goes into service, people will be able to travel directly to the foot of Changbai Mountain by train, and the travel time from Changchun to Changbai Mountain via Dunhua will be reduced from more than 4 hours to 2.5 hours.
